Counting modules for list of spare parts.

Today is end of year and a lot of company count own chickens. "So what else is new?" you may ask - and with a good reason.

Well, let me explain. I will count Allen Bradley’s component in real system. I do not have correct full list of all components in my systems. Moreover, I have not full documentation. I am going to count components on my laptop without any walking in plant with a paper and a pen.
It need for me because one of my responsibilities is care about replacement parts of control systems. For me need know what I have in the plant before I will make report and order for new parts.
Additionally, you can use this positive experience for yourself. For example if you need make analogous tasks at the work.

Firstly. What I have?

One of small ControlNet network of Allen Bradley’s PLC. Application RSNetWorx for ControlNet software. One laptop with Windows OS and main tool like PowerShell.

Secondly. What I want?

I need list of parts of Allen Bradley’s component with columns: VenderID, DeviceType, DeviceID, VersionMajor, VersionMinor, etc. Usually I export all data to CVS’s file for load in MS excel for next steps like make report and order.

Let do something at end of ends.

When we have clear task we can start. You know that all components in ControlNet networks must been declared before PLC start would run. All information about each of modules must been pulled to NeWorks project for make data pull schedule. My matter goal is get this project from network and save copy of on drive.

Saving money. When one finds out what a piece of electronics is capable of, it can spare a user from purchase of a separate product.
